First of all you should create a timeline of the events of the wedding along with a timeline of the shots you want to take.That way you can relax because you have a plan on hand and that you can anticipate the shots that you would be taking. The next thing you want to make sure you do is have a backup for all the important equipment you will use. There is no worse feeling than the feeling of not being able to take pictures.
Last tip would be to know when to take charge.As mentioned a while ago a wedding is a hectic day. If you are passive the events of the day will mess you up.But if you take charge then you would do a very good job.Because if you do not impose yourself to position yourself in any way to get the shot you want then you would not be able to complete the shots that you want taken.
